Mental health
Last month SUCKED! Big time. I just exploded, everything got to me. I’ve been super swamped and overwhelmed with my list of things to do.
Do you remember when you were a kid and mum wouldn’t give you what you wanted, and you would cry NON-STOP! Well, yeah… I literally felt like a kid who had all of her toys taken away.
But to be fair I felt significantly better the day after (sometimes we just need a cry), and a week later I am a lot BETTER, HAPPIER and overall POSITIVE ABOUT LIFE.
This post is not going to give you advice about dealing with this kind of situation because I am still dealing with the situation. Instead I am going to just talk, talk about how I feel and what I am doing to manage anxiety
Exercise plays a huge role in my life, not only do I try to exercise at least 4 times a week but ITS MY JOB! Not to mention I work in the fitness industry. Exercise can completely transform a poo-poo day into a bright sunny day.
My ways of dealing with poo-poo days
#1 Talking is the biggest help though, I know that I am so lucky to have someone in my life that really understands me and just listens!
#2 Sleep and routine, I do usually sleep a lot when stressed or anxious, it’s a coping mechanism of mine, I don’t day sleep I just fall asleep earlier than usual and get a solid 9 hours. But waking up at a reasonable time and following a routine. Day sleeping when we get muddled up in these negative thoughts is the worst, avoid it as much as possible!
#3 Rest! and by rest I DO mean laze about, maybe do a food shop, self-pamper and just totally relax! Ill just do what I fancy doing. There is just something so relaxing about doing what you want to do and not what you need to do. We do what we NEED to do ev-er-eeey-day, it’s okay to take a couple of days off in the month to do what you fancy without thinking of lifes stresses.
#4 Time away from my phone, that means phone away in a whole other room or building, no social media, no texting, no screen time. I always feel happier and content with life after a day away from my phone. I get to really focus on the present, who I am with and not worry about keeping up with social media.
